Patty Barlow - K-8 ESE Coordinator/Service Provider, 504, ESOL Coordinator
Patty Barlow moved to Florida from Southern New Jersey when she was 19 years old. She received a B.A. in Specific Learning Disabilities and an M.Ed in Guidance and Counseling from FAU in Boca Raton. She taught Varying Exceptionalities classes at Deerfield Beach Middle School, Valley Jr. High in Carlsbad, CA, and Stuart Middle School. Ms. Barlow has one son, Jonathan, who lives in Orlando. She currently resides with her husband, Frank, on South Hutchinson Island where they enjoy boating, kayaking, and daily walks on the beach. In 2014, Ms. Barlow became a part of the GSOTA family. She is inspired by the positive effect that the GSOTA caring atmosphere has had on her students. 

Brianna DeCavalcanti - Kindergarten & 1st Grade Technology Arts Teacher
Ms. Bri was born in New Jersey, but moved to Palm Beach Gardens when she was two years old. She has lived here ever since, except for the couple years she lived in Tallahassee where she earned her AA. Ms. Bri is currently working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Bri is also very into sports - "Go Giants, Seminoles and Mets!" Family is extremely important to her, especially the newest addition who made her a first time aunt, Harper. Ms. Bri has a dog named Tyson who she absolutely adores! On the weekends, she loves boating and attending sporting events. 

Jennifer Griffin - Primary & Intermediate Art Teacher

Jennifer Griffin is excited to be part of the SOTA Team. Mrs. Griffin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and is a Florida Certified Teacher in both Elementary Education and Art. She began her teaching career as a nursery school teacher when her own daughter first started school in 2003. Five years later, she transitioned to elementary school. She taught both kindergarten and second grade. A few years later, she had the opportunity to switch fields and became the art teacher for grades kindergarten through eighth grade. In addition to these experiences, Mrs. Griffin has also managed a children's art studio, taught VPK, and has worked as a nanny. Teaching children has been a life long passion and she is looking forward to infusing her classroom with creativity, joy and enthusiasm.

Elena Levy - Speech/Language Pathologist
Mrs. Levy is originally from Philadelphia, PA. She has a master's degree in Speech. Language and Hearing from Temple University. She has worked in a variety of settings including nursing homes, public schools, and private homes. Most recently, she was a speech therapist for Pre-K students in Martin County. She will provide speech therapy at Gardens School of Technology Arts and loves helping the students succeed with their communication skills.


Emily Ocampo - Primary, Intermediate and Middle School PE Teacher
Mrs. Emilia (Emily) Ocampo is originally from Ontario, Canada. She has been teaching in Florida since 2003 after graduating from FIU. She moved to Miami to pursue her education after being recruited on a full soccer scholarship. Mrs. Ocampo achieved many goals as a student athlete prior to and during her collegiate career. She enjoys being a role model and is committed to providing a new outlook on physical education to her students at GSOTA. She leads by example and continues to live an active lifestyle by playing in 3 different soccer leagues that meet weekly. She is also a mother of 3 young children and lives in Palm Beach Gardens. Mrs. Ocampo looks forward to bringing her experience to this school and collaborating with her colleagues in an effort to make fitness and health an important part of students' lives. Furthermore, she will emphasize on team sports knowing that a person's interpersonal skills, self awareness, and confidence are also very important to the development of a successful person. 

Jordan Rhudy - 2nd-5th Grade Technology Arts Teacher
‚ÄčOriginally from Palm Beach County, Jordan Rhudy recently moved back to West Palm Beach after living in Chicago for several years. She studied communication and theatre at Wheaton College and earned her masters degree in interior design from Ball State University.  Jordan's love for all things creative started at a very young age and flourished through school. She grew up performing in various capacities as well - dancing, acting, singing and now loves helping others understand everything that can be created with the assistance of technology. Between her multi-faceted work experience, Jordan most enjoys graphic and web design, interior design, and event planning. She is thrilled to get to spend time in such an uplifting environment here at GSOTA and loves being back in south Florida with her family and cats, Jeeves & Wooster!

Lisa Rice - RTI/iii Coordinator, Primary & Intermediate Social Emotional Learning Teacher
Mrs. Rice is originally from Michigan. She has a Bachelor's in Elementary Ed/Early Childhood from Western Michigan University and a Master's in Reading Education K-12 from Barry University. She has been teaching for more than 18 years which consists of teaching overseas as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kiribati, teaching K-8 in Japan, and teaching students with various exceptionalities in Florida and Texas. This is her 7th year here at GSOTA! She has taught K-2 & Middle School Intensive Reading over the past few years at GSOTA. Last year she moved out of the classroom and into a new position as a Reading Coach/Interventionist  and ESE Teacher for middle school. This year, she added SEL to her repertoire and is looking forward to providing a positive learning environment which fosters growth and a sense of community among SOTA learners. Mrs. Rice (formerly Ms. L/Leinonen) got married in The Keys last spring and currently lives in Boynton Beach with her husband.
